A server heating system uses the heat from liquid-cooled computing systems. A separate circuit and a plate heat exchanger transfer it to space heating and hot water. According to the flyers, our models provide up to 5, 50 or 150 kW of heat output and flow temperatures up to 85 °C. The actual design depends on the building.
Especially where a heat pump, ground-source borehole, district heating or wood heating is not feasible, permitted or economical. This includes hotels, residential buildings, commercial premises and agriculture. The choice depends on the heat load, not a fixed customer type.
That depends on the building and its heat demand. Server heating can fully replace the existing heating or work alongside it. In a combined system, the second heat source can provide extra heat on very cold days, for example. It can also act as a backup if one system is temporarily unavailable. For larger projects, several DecentralHeat units can be designed to provide reserve capacity. We assess the options based on past consumption, the required heating temperature, existing equipment and the desired level of reliability.
The 5 kW DH-5 is particularly suited to supplementary heating, taking some of the load off the existing system. For many single-family homes, 5 kW alone is not enough; a DH-50 may then be more suitable. The heat load determines the choice.
The system is designed for continuous operation, but runs according to heat demand. If the building needs no heat, it switches off.
The flyer specifies 230 V and 26 A for the DH-5. The exact connection must be confirmed before ordering. DH-50 and DH-150 require a three-phase connection up to 415 V and, depending on capacity, up to 80 A or 240 A respectively. A qualified electrician checks whether your connection is sufficient.
We offer the systems for purchase. The customer pays the ongoing electricity costs.
A buffer tank is generally recommended. Whether an existing tank can be used and what size is appropriate depend on the hydraulics, heat demand and operation.
Yes. Remote monitoring requires an internet connection. We clarify the exact setup on site.
Compute Return is the revenue generated by the high-performance computers through Bitcoin mining. Who receives this revenue and how it is allocated is agreed contractually on a case-by-case basis. There is no single allocation that applies to every project. On request, we help you exchange it into Swiss francs through a Swiss broker. Compute Return is not guaranteed; the amount depends on the market and operation.
The purchase price, integration and service are quoted for each project. There are also ongoing electricity and maintenance costs. After your enquiry, we discuss heat load, existing equipment and the site. We then clarify planning requirements and any site visit needed to prepare an offer. We do not promise a fixed saving or payback period.
That depends on the site, building and installation. Required permits and documentation are clarified with the relevant specialists and authorities. We cannot currently provide a verified noise figure, so noise protection is part of the project assessment.
Specialist plumbing and electrical partners carry out the installation. The time and work required depend on the existing setup. We provide the information needed for planning and installation on site.
Yes, the systems are remotely monitored. The warranty and maintenance scope are set out in the offer, rather than promised universally on the website.
